H.E.E. workshop on Spodoptera frugiperda

With great success was held by the H.E.E.E. Scientific Workshop, the
Monday 11 December 2023, at the Amphitheatre of the Library of the Agricultural University of Athens.
The topic was: Spodoptera frugiperda: A new threat within

Spodoptera, a new threatwithin the gates of Europe” under the auspices of the EEA of the GPA and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment.

The purpose of the meeting was to inform the academic and scientific community about the
community and the institutional bodies of Greece (Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), for the

development of the spread of the quarantine pest Spodoptera fruigipedra, after

the recent first record of the insect in various areas of our country,
on the problems that may arise in the production and distribution of
threatened agricultural products, the phytosanitary measures and the appropriate
measures to be taken to combat this harmful insect in the context of
Integrated Pest Management, taking into account both the resistance and
the restrictions on the use of pesticides under the Green Agreement of
European Union’s Green Agreement.

H.E.E. Workshop at AGROTICA 2022

With great success the H.E.E.E. held a Scientific Workshop at the
AGROTICA2022 on Thursday 20 October 2022, at the Conference Centre of theEuropean Commission.
Centre “Nikolaos Germanos”, Hall A′, on the topic: “New challenges and trends
New trends and trends in the integrated management of crop insect pests in a

‘New and new challenges and challenges in the integrated management of pest insect pests and diseases in a changing environment’.

The purpose of the Workshop was to present topical issues related to the
dealing with important insect-pests in crops in North and Central Greece.
Greece and the appropriate ways of dealing with them in the context of the implementation of the
Integrated Pest Management, taking into account the limitations in
use of pesticides by the European Union’s Green Agreement.
Particular reference was made to new and re-emerging pests, to new methods
newways of dealing with them, such as agro-ecology, the importance of protecting natural habitats and the
the importance of natural enemies of insects in all crops, the introduction of new technologies in
agricultural warning system, etc. The papers presented
were the following: “Agro-ecological strategies and tools to enhance
